The naturalisation test is taken at the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP). It has two parts — the state language proficiency test and the test of knowledge of the Satversme, the anthem, and Latvian history and culture. The figures below follow the Cabinet regulations and PMLP information at the time of publication; check the current procedure at pmlp.gov.lv before your exam.

If the exam is two weeks away: 25–35 minutes a day in the letters (read with analysis → case drill to 100% → “find the error” → write from the plan with the rubric), 10–15 minutes of the daily lesson (SRS + weak cases), one exam part in the simulator every other day, a full exam on days 7 and 14. Yes. The language part — vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, letters and speaking situations — is organised by levels A1–B1, so it suits both naturalisation and the state language proficiency test run by VIAA: A2 is required for a permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident status, A1–C1 depending on the profession. Both tests grade each skill separately.
The state language test for naturalisation corresponds roughly to B1 in comprehension and A2–B1 in writing and speaking. Each of the four language parts requires at least 16 of 25 points.
If a part is failed it can be retaken. After the third failed attempt the naturalisation case is closed, but a new application may be submitted at any time — there is no one-year waiting period in that case (Cabinet Regulation No. 1001, Section 17 of the Citizenship Law).
No. It is an independent study tool. The task structure and pass marks follow the published requirements, but the texts are study samples, not real exam materials. Registration for the exam is only via pmlp.gov.lv.
