It strengthened national and social self-awareness and demands for self-government and freedom — a step toward statehood.
Protests challenged tsarist autocracy and social injustice. The revolution was suppressed, but the experience increased political participation. Urban strikes and rural protests linked demands for political rights with demands for better living and working conditions.

6.Kad tika pasludināta neatkarīga Latvijas valsts?

The peace treaty ended war with Soviet Russia and affirmed Latvia's independence. The later Soviet occupation violated that commitment to respect it. The treaty mattered not only for ending hostilities but also for recognition of Latvian statehood by its former opponent.

Kārlis Ulmanis's coup — the Saeima was dissolved and an authoritarian regime was established.
Ulmanis seized power outside democratic procedures. Parliament was suspended and parties banned; this was an internal coup, not a foreign invasion. The date therefore marks the divide between interwar democracy and Ulmanis's authoritarian rule.
